A culinary finale

No culinary tour of Oman would be complete without a taste of traditional desserts and teas. ‘Halwa’, the sweet, jelly-like dessert, often flavoured with nuts and cardamom, is a must for every visitor. It is often served with strong, black coffee or Omani tea flavoured

with cardamom and saffron.

Another highlight is luqaimat, small, deep-fried dough balls dipped in honey or date syrup. These sweet treats are particularly popular during Ramadan, when they are enjoyed after breaking the fast.
